How To Make Our Cornflake Christmas Wreath Cookies Recipe:

When making these tasty Christmas wreaths, start by placing the cornflakes in a large mixing bowl and making sure they are slightly crush, but not too much that they become crumbs.

Then, melt the butter in a large sauce pan over low heat.

Once the butter is completely melted, add in the mini marshmallows and use a wooden spoon to continuously stir the butter and marshmallows together to avoid the marshmallows from burning.

After the marshmallows have been completely melted down, turn the heat off and add in the green food coloring and stir it into the melted butter and marshmallows.

When the marshmallow mixture has all turned green, pour it over top of the cornflakes in the mixing bowl and stir it all together until the cornflakes are completely covered.

Now, lay out a piece of parchment paper or wax paper on your counter or a cookie sheet.

Place spoonfuls of the cornflakes mixture onto the parchment paper until you are out of room or no cornflakes left.

Now, wash your hands and either grease them up with butter or nonstick cooking spray and use your hands to form the piles of cornflakes into a nice round wreath shape.

Then when the wreaths have been shaped, place three of the little chocolate mini M&M’s on each of the wreaths.

Let them set up completely before trying to move them and then serve them right away or store them in an airtight container.

What Can You Use as the Red Holly Berries on these Wreaths?

You can use red hots candies, red sixlets, red mini M&M’s, red candy balls, or even red licorice or pull and peel to make a red candy bow!

If you want an even more extensive list of red candies All City Candy has a great list of red candies you check out too!

Can I Substitute the Cornflakes?

Of course these are very appealing no bake cookies, but cornflakes aren’t for everyone, even myself when given a choice of cereal cornflakes definitely would not make the top of the list. But I will say for this recipe they are delicious when they are smothered in butter and marshmallows.

You can always try making them with your favorite cereal, but make sure you think the flavors of the cereal will work!

Of course switch out the cornflakes for rice crispies, cheerios, or even fruity pebbles I think would taste great.

One I definitely think that would be worth trying is cinnamon toast crunch! However whenever I buy it, it tends to disappear to fast to try it. So if you do, please let us know how you liked it!
