UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Left Shoe – (commence with sole)
With 3.50mm hook and colour 1, (RS) Make magic circle, work 11ch, 3tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into next 7ch, 8tr into magic circle, pull loose loop to close circle, working on opposite side of starting ch, work 1tr into next 7ch, 4tr into last ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. DNT (29tr + 3ch)
Row 2 – 3ch, work 2tr into each of next 3tr, 1tr into each of next 9tr, 2tr into each of next 6tr, 1tr into next 9tr, 2tr into each of last 2tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. DNT (40tr + 3ch)
Row 3 – Make 2ch, 1htr into each tr to end, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. DNT. (40htr + 2ch) Fasten off.
Row 4 – Join in colour 2, working through 2nd back loop of htr, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each htr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (41dc)
Row 5 – Working through both loops from now on work 3ch, 1tr into each dc to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (40tr + 3ch)
Instep – (Dec Row) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 13tr, dec 1tr (see abbrev) over next 2tr, 7 times, 1tr into each of next 13tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (33tr + 3ch)
Row 7 – (Dec Row) 2ch, 1htr into each of next 11tr, dec 1htr (see abbrev) over next 2tr, 5 times, 1htr into each of next 12tr, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (28htr + 2ch)
Sole Border – With 4.50mm hook and RS of sole of shoe facing you, starting at the back of the shoe, join colour 1 with a ss and work 1 row of dc all around sole of shoe into loose loops. Fasten off. (41dc)
Left Ankle strap – With 3.50mm hook and colour 2, make 17ch, 1tr into 6th ch from hook, 1tr into next 11ch, with RS facing join to shoe 7 stitches before back seam, work 1tr into each of next 7htr, 1tr into top of 2ch on back seam, 1tr into next 8htr. Fasten off. (28tr + 5ch)
T-Bar – With toe towards you and working over centre 3htr on front of shoe, join colour 2 to first htr, 3ch, 1tr into next 2htr. Turn.
Next Row – 3ch, 1tr into next tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt last row until 7 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off.
Fold bar onto WS of work (inside of shoe) and tack down into place to make a loop.
Right Shoe – Repeat as left shoe until ankle strap.
Right Ankle strap – With 3.50mm hook and RS facing join colour 2 with a ss to shoe 7 stitches before back seam, make 3ch, work 1tr into each of next 6htr, 1tr into top of 2ch, 1tr into next 8htr, make 17ch, 1tr into 6th ch from hook, 1tr into next 11ch, ss to the bottom of the next tr. Fasten off.
T-Bar – Work same as left shoe t-bar.
Finishing – Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim, sew on button to side of shoe, thread strap through loop of T-Bar and fasten button through the 5ch loop.
